Kido Tatsuhiko moved to Tokyo to start a new, independent life as a student at the Technical School. Kido has a talent for drawing, but he does not aspire to become a great artist. He simply longs to taste adult life at the maximum distance from the parental hearth. In his small, rented apartment, Kido finds a mysterious hole in the wall through which one could see the girl's room next door. In an attempt to warn a neighbor about a construction flaw that could put an end to the intimate life of both, Kido goes to her for a serious conversation about redecorating the wall.
